Biography
Experience
Dan King's extensive higher education experience has given him
the expertise to help your firm develop winning project proposals.
Since 2006, Dan King has served as the Chief Facilities Officer of two major universities. First, at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and then at Auburn University, where he served as the Vice President for Facilities Management. In this capacity, he was responsible for the planning, design and construction of capital projects, as well as maintenance, utilities, landscaping, custodial, and other campus services Dan retired from Auburn University in 2024.
A native of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dan graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1980 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Following graduation, he served 28 years as an officer in the U.S. Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps, rising to the rank of Captain.
Dan has two Masters degrees: one in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a second, in Management Information Systems from George Washington University. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dan is a registered professional engineer in the state of Maine.
